The Bed & Breakfast Roode Bes holiday home in Langedijke, close to the Drents-Friese Wold national park, combines the outdoor life with luxury. The modern bedrooms have new box-spring beds and a flat screen television. The general area with a welcoming woodstove offers space to enjoy a cup of coffee or a drink and if you wish, you can be served an extensive fresh breakfast here in the morning. It consists of over 6000 hectares of woodlands, heathland, drift sand and stream grasslands. The Drents Friese Wold is an attractive specialist habitat for many plants and animals. For nature lovers there is plenty to do. Cycling paths, walking paths, a large choice of bridle-way routes (75 km) and a visitor’s centre offer you the opportunity to discover the natural beauty of the national park. In the near surroundings, apart from walking, cycling, horse-back riding and golfing you can take lovely day trips, for example to the Drents Museum, the Aekingerzand recreational area, the Blauwe Meer recreational area and the woodland pool of Appelscha. Het Nationaal Park Dwingelderveld en omgeving leent zich bij uitstek voor het maken van mooie wandel- en fietstochten. Dwingelderveld is een uniek natuurgebied, het is het grootste aaneengesloten natte heidegebied van West-Europa en je ziet er heidevelden met plassen, vennetjes, bos en stuifzand. De heide wordt zelfs beheerd door twee schaapskudden met elk een herder. Hunebedden kun je ook bekijken in de directe omgeving en in Borger vind je zelfs een museum. Een dagtrip naar Giethoorn is ook één van de mogelijkheden. Ga je met kinderen op vakantie dan is een bezoek aan Dierenpark Emmen een aanrader. Een centrale locatie met veel mogelijkheden voor uitstapjes.

Alle accommodaties beschikken over een eigen terras met tuinmeubelen voor een gezellige barbecue of heerlijk ontbijt.

The Type D holiday home is situated in a 35 hectare country estate in the province of Drenthe, on the edge of a protected nature reserve and close to Hooghalen. Thanks to this central location the Type D holiday home forms an ideal base for day trips and for walking and cycling tours through the vast natural landscape. Within only five minutes you can drive from Type D to the pleasant shopping town of Assen and within half an hour you already find yourself in the historical town of Groningen. Moreover, in the small-scale park of the De Ekster you will find an (indoor) swimming pool and a good restaurant. On the ground floor of Type D you find the living room with French windows or sliding doors giving access to the furnished terrace. The seating area has a television and the open-plan kitchen is equipped with all modern conveniences. Finally there is a dining table seating six. One of the bathrooms and one bedroom are on the ground floor. On the first floor you can find the second bathroom and the other two bedrooms. From the Type D holiday home you walk directly into the woods and the heathlands where you can find grazing Scottish Highlanders. In the park itself there is, among other things, a covered swimming pool with sauna and Turkish steam bath, a restaurant and a pub. For the youngsters there is a children’s club, a jungle forest, a bouncy castle, and there are playgrounds. You can make use of all the facilities in the park every day. During the early and late season facilities will remain open for limited periods. The layout/furnishings, exterior and location of the holiday homes may vary.
