The Bed & Breakfast Roode Bes holiday home in Langedijke, close to the Drents-Friese Wold national park, combines the outdoor life with luxury. The modern bedrooms have new box-spring beds and a flat screen television. It consists of over 6000 hectares of woodlands, heathland, drift sand and stream grasslands. The Drents Friese Wold is an attractive specialist habitat for many plants and animals. For nature lovers there is plenty to do. Cycling paths, walking paths, a large choice of bridle-way routes (75 km) and a visitor’s centre offer you the opportunity to discover the natural beauty of the national park. In the near surroundings, apart from walking, cycling, horse-back riding and golfing you can take lovely day trips, for example to the Drents Museum, the Aekingerzand recreational area, the Blauwe Meer recreational area and the woodland pool of Appelscha. It is also nice to pay a visit to the dolmens, the Shakespeare open-air theatre in Diever, and the Groninger Museum.

De Wheemhof
In een deel van een rietgedekte, voormalige boerderij in het dorpje Zweeloo in Drenthe, ligt deze comfortabel ingerichte vakantiewoning. Waar vroeger de koeien stonden, verblijf je nu in een vakantiewoning met twee terrassen, eigen ingang en uitzicht op een boomgaard met oude fruitbomen. Zweeloo is een typisch oud Drents Dorp met een 13e-eeuws kerkje en verschillende restaurants. De omgeving leent zich bij uitstek voor het maken van mooie wandelingen en fietstochten. In de buurtdorpen vind je diverse activiteiten. Op minder dan 1km afstand vanaf de vakantiewoning ligt Oud Aalden met haar oud-Saksische boerderijen. Op circa 10km afstand ligt het museumdorp Orvelte, waar je een paar eeuwen terug in de tijd gaat. Wat verder ligt de stad Emmen (15km), met onder andere Dierenpark Emmen. Met kinderen is een bezoek aan Plopsa Indoor Coevorden (18km) een aanrader.
